CLOUD IX CREATIVE STUDIOS brings together years of experience across photography, cinematography, filmmaking, fashion, media, content creation, event production, and creative direction to do more than simply capture what has already been planned. We help develop the vision, curate the experience, build the creative concept, and execute the production from beginning to end. By combining creative direction with hands-on production, we can take an idea from concept to creative direction, production, content, and final delivery—often handling multiple creative roles in-house while bringing in trusted specialists when a project calls for them. The result is a more cohesive creative process, fewer moving pieces, and the ability to build bigger ideas without having to hire and coordinate a completely separate team for every part of the production.

THE CREATIVE BEHIND CLOUD IX

ASANTE “CLOUD” WATKINS

FOUNDER • CREATIVE DIRECTOR • PHOTOGRAPHER • FILMMAKER
Born in Germany, raised on Chicago's South Side, and spending summers on his grandparents' farm in Natchez, Mississippi, Asante “Cloud” Watkins was shaped by family, culture, creativity and community.
His father, an Army veteran and entrepreneur, instilled the value of hard work and building opportunities of his own. With a deacon and bishop among his grandfathers and an original member of the Black Panther Party among his closest uncles, Asante grew up surrounded by strong examples of entrepreneurship, leadership, service and community.
His creative journey began with drawing, fueled by his love of anime, manga, comics, superheroes, kung fu films, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. Inspired by manga legend Akira Toriyama, he dreamed of becoming a manga artist.
That passion led him to ARTSkool, where he was accepted for three consecutive summers to develop his craft under the mentorship of a world-renowned artist. He later studied Visual Communications and Graphic Design and launched his own clothing line, Cloud 9 Designz.
While building the brand, Asante discovered photography, eventually expanding into videography, filmmaking and creative direction.

Drawing led to design. Design led to fashion. Fashion led to photography. Photography led to film.
His career has since spanned commercials, branding, fashion, music, weddings, corporate productions, documentaries, television, web series, album campaigns and live events.
Beyond creating, Asante has helped build brands and cultural platforms including ATL Streetwear Fashion Week, Highly Unique Radio and ATL Black Fae Fest, while developing media properties through The ELEVE Foundation, including COSRIP Magazine, ELEVE Magazine and House of Waifu Magazine.
Today, that experience comes together through Cloud IX Creative Studio — a multidisciplinary creative studio focused on photography, film, branding, fashion, creative direction, production and culture.
Cloud IX is the evolution of a kid who loved to draw and dreamed of becoming a manga artist — now using every creative tool available to build, create and tell stories that connect.
